Explore Chapter One of the Yoga Sutras based on the ‘Yoga Sutra Vrtti’ also known as ‘Yoga Sudhakaram’ written by the great 17th century Saint, Sri Sadashiva Brahmendral.

Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra Swamigal is reckoned to have lived during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in South India. He mastered all the Sastras at an early age and was a formidable debater. But, tradition holds that a mild word of reproach from his Guru made him a mauni. He thereafter spent his time in silence, mostly in secluded areas along the banks of the river Kaveri as one who was beyond worldly concerns. He is said to have been a great siddha performing many miracles, while creating numerous, beautiful music compositions and scholarly works such as the text to be used in this course. There are only a handful teachers in the world capable of teaching this work and only one prepared to do so in English - Swami Santatmananda, a scholar and traditional Vedanta teacher based in California, from the Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati lineage. He regularly guides hundreds of students every month through the detailed study of the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. This course will help those who wish to properly assimilate the teachings of Vedanta and prepare themselves for Mananam and Nididhyasanam, the final steps of Vedantic study towards self-realisation.
